Links

Here is a selection of sites related to hiking and mountains in Switzerland. On some of them you will find other itineraries than mine. When a webpage presents the exact same hike, I give the link next to my own hike description.

Click on the flags to access the sites (some are available in several languages).

  • Français Randalp: alpine hikes for seniors ans others. A cool site by Raymond Nicole with interesting ideas for hikes in French speaking Switzerland.
  • French German English Italianhikr.ch is the new name of former website randonneur.ch. The concept is a database of hikes that can be consulted and extended by the users. Since its beginning in 2003, the site has grown a lot and now contains an abundant selection of hikes in several Swiss regions and abroad.
  • English Great outdoor recreation pages, Hiking Switzerland by Karen Walker: general and comprehensive informations on hiking in Switzerland.
  • French German English Valais Tourisme: official information from Valais Tourism.
  • French www.montagne.ch is a Swiss portal about mountains. Like on any portal, you will find ad banners and sponsors messages, but not only! Have a look at the magnificent gallery!
  • French Romandie Randonnées: some lesser known hikes.
  • French Guide des refuges de haute et moyenne montagne (list of mountain huts, with personal ratings) by Markus Jaton. Another page worth mentionning is the Summer courses page.
  • English Dmitry Yakunin's Around Lausanne.
  • French What you will find on Panapic.com are mainly great panorama shots. But also hike and climb reports.
  • English Walking Switzerland, by Lou Johnson.
  • French Randomandie.ch: reports and pictures of hikes in French-speaking Switzerland (Romandie)... and elsewhere.
  • French TopRando: contains "selected mountain hikes in the Swiss French Alps, mainly in the center of Valais and Haute-Savoie".
  • Italian site of Mauro Lüthy, a contributor from Ticino to Hikr.org (listed above). Even though the site is in italian language, the numerous hikes - most of them in canton Ticino - are presented with pictures, maps and elevation graphs. Thus even non-Italian speakers will enjoy it.
  • French I do not know who stands behind the name Les Joyeux Randonneurs (The Merry Hikers). Whatever, their website writes about several of "my" hikes. Furthermore, it has suggestions of strolls at lower altitudes or in the plain (which I don't).
  • French Refuges.info: describes itself as "a collaborative site where information is provided and updated by the members". It covers all the huts and refuges of the Alps, and even some elsewhere in the world.
  • French Descriptions et forum de randonnées pédestres: this site's main interest is the comments and first hand experiences left by the visitors who know the described hike.
