Français Lac Léman - Les 50 plus belles randonnées
Allemand Rund um den Genfer See - die schönsten Tal- und Höhenwanderungen
Author(s): Daniel Anker
Publisher, year: Bergverlag Rother, 2002. Check out new editions in French and German (both 2008)

Available in German at Amazon.de or translated into French at Amazon.fr.

Again something from my favourite collection. Published in 2002, this guide describes some easy city/countryside strolls around Geneva, but also hikes in the mountains of the Swiss-French Chablais region and in the Prealps above my town Montreux.
I like its handy size, the map extract and the picture given for each of the 50 trips. The selection ranges from easy but interesting strolls at lower altitudes to alpine hikes. On the whole, I consider it to be a very good choice for experienced hikers who seek enjoyment rather than performance. It's my second favourite guide, after the #1.
Several Rother pocket books have been translated into French or English. Please check with your librarian or with the publisher's website for availability in your language.

Hiking guide for the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. I did not have the opportunity to try it out yet.

#14

Français Randonnées alpines - Suisse romande
Author(s): Philippe Metzker
Publisher, year: Swiss Alpine Club (SAC), 1998

A similar book to #4, Randonnées en altitude, only more recent and limited to the "Suisse romande" (French-speaking Switzerland). The author is the same, as is the writing style - in my opinion a little bit too concise - and the diagrams of time/elevation gain.

Français Randonnées en montagne - Jura, Fribourg, Vaud
Author(s): Philippe Metzker
Publisher, year: Swiss Alpine Club (SAC), 2001

Similar to the previous book. This one gives a map extract to each hike description, a welcome addition. On the whole, the routes are less serious here because of the lower height of these regions.

Allemand 20 Bergwanderungen Region Wallis
Author(s): Luc Hagmann, Franz und Brigitte Auf der Maur
Publisher, year: Werd Verlag, 2000

Available in German at Amazon.de.

Compared to the Rother guides, this book presents a restricted number of hikes (20, against 50 for each Rother). The care taken for each description makes up for that: nice map, height diagram, pictures as well as history, traditions and geographic peculiarities of the surroundings.

#17

Français Grand-St-Bernard, Dents du Midi, Les Diablerets

Certainly available in German too.
